The Power of Events has expanded its UK Schools Engagement Programme with the launch of the London Hub, connecting young people with careers in the events industry across the UK's capital.
Olympia has joined the UK events industry to support The Power of Events' newly expanded Schools Programme. The initiative will connect thousands of young people with the world of events, providing insights, inspiration, and career pathways into the industry.
Since launching in 2023, the programme has engaged over 103,000 young people through more than 400 school visits across six regions: the North West, East of England, Hertfordshire, Birmingham, the South Coast, and Edinburgh. The first wave of school engagements is scheduled to begin in September across London, with the goal of reaching over 150,000 young people by the end of 2025.
"The launch of the London Hub marks a significant progression in one of our core projects, to engage and inspire young people across the UK about the diverse opportunities within the events industry. With the incredible support of our ambassadors and sponsors, we look forward to making a lasting impact across the capital."
Rick Stainton, CEO, The Power of Events
The expansion is supported by sponsorship from several event industry organisations, including Olympia, the Business Design Centre, ExCeL London, The O2, QEII Centre, Cheerful Twentyfirst, LS Events, Neg Earth Lights, Principal. Global Events, Strata Group, and TFI Lodestar.
Industry professionals in the London region are invited to sign up and volunteer for the programme as ambassadors via The Power of Events’ Schools Engagement Programme portal, offering as little as an hour to the initiative.
“Culture and creativity are in London’s DNA and our thriving events are a cornerstone of life in the capital contributing billions to our economy and attracting global audiences. The London Hub is a wonderful way to help thousands of young people learn more about the opportunities available to them in this exciting industry. It’s important that we all play our part to nurture the next generation of leaders and creators as we continue to build a better and fairer London for everyone.”
