The 1.3bn redevelopment of Olympia recently reached a major milestone on its progress to becoming a world-class destination as the glass canopy was completed.
The canopy is formed of five large curved structural steel arches, each with a span of 22 metres and covers nearly 1,000 square metres. The regeneration of Olympia is one of Europe’s largest, and has been designed by Founder of Heatherwick Studio, Thomas Heatherwick.

Influenced by the vaulted glass roofs of our original event spaces, this new canopy covers public space that will be available to all. As part of the roof garden that will overlook the London skyline, it will offer visitors and the local community a new perspective of Olympia’s iconic architecture, as well as providing access to many new restaurants and bars. Olympia will also soon offer new hotels, a music arena, a theatre, a new conference centre and more.
