Live music is officially returning to the Grand Hall at Olympia, for the first time since 2022, with Bloc Party and Interpol announced as the first acts to perform in a limited series of shows at the London venue in December 2026, as part of a wider UK & European tour.
The two bands will co-headline next year on 4 and 5 December as part of a new annual series of live music events launching within Olympia’s Heritage Halls in 2026, in partnership with SJM Concerts. The series will mark a new era for live music within the historic venues, operated and managed by Legends Global and Olympia Events, bringing to life the company’s long-term vision to diversify event content and further establish the venue as must-visit, dynamic spaces for entertainment and culture.
The collaboration builds on Legends Global’s existing relationship with SJM across its wider portfolio of venues, reinforcing a shared commitment to exceptional live experiences for fans and artists alike.
For Bloc Party, the return is especially significant, with the band last playing at Olympia in 2009, adding a sense of homecoming to the December performances.
Gareth Lloyd, Business Development Director at Olympia Events said:
"Olympia has always had a rich history of music and we’re proud to build on that legacy through our partnership with SJM and the launch of the Winter Music Series. Over our 139-year history, the Grand Hall has hosted some of the world’s most celebrated artists - including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Cure and Pink Floyd - and this marks the next chapter in that heritage. As Olympia evolves into a world-class cultural and entertainment destination in 2026, with the addition of new cultural spaces, bars, restaurants, and hotels onsite, it will no doubt offer unforgettable experiences for audiences and artists alike.”
Olympia’s re-emergence as a destination for live music comes as a result of a £1.3bn transformation to become a world-class destination for culture, events, and entertainment, building on its legacy as a standout event venue. This partnership with SJM reflects Olympia Events’ ongoing commitment to expanding its live events offering in the iconic halls as well as its new International Convention Centre, celebrating their versatility and heritage.
James Harrison, Vice President of Programming (UK/EU) at Legends Global said:
“I’m delighted we’re announcing these shows at Olympia’s Grand Hall, the first at the venue since 2022, and the first since major milestones within the redevelopment will have been completed. Whilst the full Olympia site is being completely transformed, the iconic Grand Hall remains the centre piece of the new destination, and one that Legends Global are very proud to operate. Two special Bloc Party & Interpol co-headline shows is a great way to kick off this limited run next year. We’re focused on delivering some unforgettable nights here, and I look forward to continuing to work with our friends at SJM to deliver more huge gigs in this incredible venue.”
Further acts for the remaining nights of the Olympia Winter Music Series are to be announced soon.
Alongside the heritage spaces, ICC and private members club managed by Olympia Events, the transformed Olympia will be home to the largest new theatre in London for 50 years with 1,575 seats and operated by Trafalgar Entertainment, a new 3,800 music venue operated by AEG Presents, 30 restaurants, bars and eateries, two new hotels – citizenM London Olympia and Hyatt Regency London Olympia, a boutique gym by 1Rebel, 550,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art office space, as well as 2.5 acres of new public realm.
