Artificial intelligence has long been regarded as a key tool in the future of conferencing but it is already significantly shaping the current market.

Both conference planners and venues are using the latest technology to deliver seamless, inclusive and inspiring experiences for attendees. Here are five ways AI is making a striking impact on the industry:

1. Personalised recommendations

Attendees can be recommended relevant sessions, workshops and networking opportunities thanks to AI analysing their profiles, experience and past behaviours. This enables audiences to discover the content most useful to them and maximise their experience.

2. Audience engagement

AI technologies like chatbots and virtual assistants have revolutionised real-time interaction with attendees. Questions can be answered, information provided and navigation assisted with. AI can provide a seamless experience for conference goers with constant communication.

3. Content generation and analysis

Conference organisers can now lean on AI to produce rapid content for post-event distribution. Summaries, transcripts and highlights from sessions can be available at the touch of a button in no time at all. AI analytics can also collate feedback, social media mentions and other data to provide immediate insights into audience preferences and event effectiveness.

4. Virtual and hybrid events

Interactive sessions through AI enable both virtual and hybrid events to thrive in this era of conferencing. Virtual event platforms, streaming, virtual networking and interactive sessions are all enhancing content delivery and taking attendee experiences to the next level.

5. Accessibility and inclusivity

Real-time captioning, translation services and audio descriptions are all fostering inclusivity and ensuring that attendees can fully participate in the event.

Olympia Events will soon be home to a state-of-the-art conference facility from 2026, the Olympia Conference Centre.

Flexible, scalable and multi-functional, it will be fully connectable to the venue’s four exhibition spaces as well as has its own entrance on Hammersmith Road, allowing for organisers to maximise technology’s capabilities in enhancing their event.
