The opportunity
Olympia Events’ IT specialists, eForce, were tasked with providing premium WiFi for the UK’s leading data, analytics and AI event, Big Data LDN. Occupying two of the venue’s largest event spaces, plus additional meeting rooms in the Henley Suite, fast and reliable connectivity was an essential requirement for the smooth running of this tech focused event. By using eForce's tailored Hall Wide (Sponsored) WiFi, the client had the opportunity to customise the WiFi homepage with Big Data LDN branding and redirect connected users to a chosen webpage that aligned with their marketing objectives.
Creating success
From planning to delivery, the eForce team worked closely with the client to ensure every requirement was met and delivered on time. To accommodate such a large-scale show with heavy technical requirements, a dedicated IT service desk operated on-site during the event to assist attendees, exhibitors and speakers with immediate IT support. Additionally, dedicated and premium connectivity was supplied to individual stands over wired and wireless solutions to further support exhibitors in delivering successful product demonstrations and talks on the show floor.
The results
Olympia Events’ eForce team successfully delivered efficient and reliable WiFi to 15,500+ attendees and 220+ exhibitors over the show’s two operational days. A total of 8,187 devices (55% mobile and 44% laptop devices) were connected during the event, with up to 5,199 users online at once. By tapping into the Hall Wide WiFi, 82% of all website traffic was directed to the client’s selected webpage, with over 37% of exhibitors opting for extra IT support. This ranged from a single WiFi username and password for enhanced connectivity, to a 45Mbps split wired connection for superior bandwidth provision.
What truly stood out was the team’s expertise, professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. The eForce team went above and beyond to accommodate our specific needs, providing tailored solutions that enhanced the overall attendee experience. This is the first event I’ve attended where I’ve seen an exhibitor desk dedicated to helping with this service. For an event like ours, which relies heavily on internet connectivity, this proved invaluable.
